Following the Golden Princess refurbishment in 2018, 2018-2019 is the best time to go on the cruise aboard Melbourne’s largest ship. The Golden Princess is returning in October for a second summer of cruises through New Zealand, Tasmania and South Australia. This time, the ship, which has a capacity of 2,636 passengers, will have a brand new appearance after a multimillion dollar refurbishment that was completed in April this year.

The Golden Princess’s arrival in Melbourne on the 25th of October 2018, will mark the beginning in the fourth year of its voyage Down Under, as well as the tenth anniversary from when Princess Cruises first began seasonal departures from Melbourne, Victorian capital.

2. Luxurious Beds

Each out of these 1,318 rooms has been outfitted with a brand new princess Luxury Bed that was designed specifically for the brand by sleep expert Dr. Michael Breus. The secret to comfort of the mattress is double layer of memory foam the individually wrapped coils, and a 5 cm pillows with a pillow topper. These beds are scheduled to be fitted throughout all fleets before the end of the year.

3. New Menu on Sabatini’s Restaurant

The chef from Los Angeles Angelo Auriana, who joined the ranks of Princess Cruises in the past year, is now turning his focus toward Sabatini’s restaurant onboard the Golden Princess. The restaurant is originally from Bergamo in northwestern Italy, Auriana is the chef in charge of three restaurants that are known for its rustic food and great pasta. Auriana’s method combines traditional grains and non-traditional ingredients to make dishes that are which are inspired by family recipes. Try the risotto prepared with the nano-sized vialone rice and beets, dolce gorgonzola, pistachios and gorgonzola, and it’s the Roman seafood cartoccio that combines shrimp, grouper black mussels, scallops, black mussels and artichoke.

4. Camp Discovery Youth Centres

Princess has joined forces in partnership with Discovery Communications, the US cable television channel, to produce activities for kids that combine art, crafts and educational programs for children between the ages of three and 17. Kids who attend two separate children’s clubs The Tree House (ages 3 to 7) and The Lodge (ages 8 to 12) Tree House (three to seven years old)) The Lodge (eight to 12 years) and The Lodge (eight to 12 years) The Lodge will be able to explore the world around them through animal-themed games like ‘Myth-Buster’ games. Other activities include dance classes, and scavenger hunts. Beach House Beach House can be described as the newest teenager hangout, which was developed in collaboration with Discovery Teens can participate at video gaming tournaments, or play air hockey or Ping Pong. Outdoor deck activities include hip-hop classes and movie nights.

5. “The Voice of the Ocean

If you’re a lover of The Voice, a popular TV show The Voice, you can perform on stage to sing in this singing competition in the ocean. Contestants sign up in the series of karaoke night in which the audience votes for their top artist. The winners are then mentored by coaches from the team during their rehearsal sessions. They are also equipped with the iconic swinging chairs. The team coaches could include guests from the ship’s entertainment as well as the hotel’s general manager, and perhaps even captain. There’s plenty of drama prior to the grand finale, where a winner for each team is selected to take on the title of ‘ The Voice of the Ocean’.

6. Shopping

8. Across the Ditch experience

Princess Cruises will offer its largest ever New Zealand season on vessels which include Golden Princess (with its series of 13-night itineraries) as well as the new Majestic Princess. The company promises to unveil a new Across the Ditch program of unique New Zealand experiences’ that are focused on cultural and food activities later in the year. The first launch of the program included zip-lining and wine tasting at Waiheke Island.
