Imagine that you’ve spent the entire day exploring the port and shopping, or fighting for a place on the beach that is crowded. The whole vacation is exhausting and you’d prefer nothing better than to sit on a chair outside in the cool evening breeze with an box full of popcorn, and an upcoming film. That’s exactly what Carnival Seaside Theater provides.
What It Is
The Carnival’s Seaside Theater — available on more than half the ships in the fleet is located close to the main pool. There, sun loungers are used to enjoy entertainment in the sun on a huge (and we’re talking about a huge) big screen. The massive LED screens display live-streamed events, concerts (sometimes in live) and films referred to in the form of “Dive-In Movies,” which include recent films from a rotating schedule which changes every couple of weeks. Sometimes, the screens display a collection of passenger pictures from the current cruise. Events like the Oscars and the Super Bowl are sometimes shown live, too.
The alfresco spots are open all day long including sports and concerts in the daytime as well as Dive-In Movies in the evening and in the evening. Make sure you check for your Fun Times schedule for specific dates and times. Films for families are usually shown at night While R-rated films are shown later, after most kids have gone to bed.
Moviegoers can grab free boxes of fresh popcorn generally at the bars that are located near the pool as well as blankets available on colder evenings. Sound quality is improved in the evening when the pool is been closed; guests are still able to enjoy the show in the daytime, but we’ve never observed it to be very disturbing to people looking to relax on the beach.
